Planetside has an excellent voice comms system built right in. So why does no one use it? Why does EVERY outfit require Teamspeak or Ventrilo? The built in one is perfectly integrated, has all the keys built in, and requires no extra third-party software. What's the issue with it? Why is no one using it? It's frustrating.

1. We can see who of our outfit (alliance) are online, even if they aren't in the game or in another game.
2. You can skip to different channels more easily and go to afk rooms. 3. The quality is just a little bit better for some people. 4. If the game crashes, you don't lose voice chat. 5. Routine. |

I used the ingame voice for squad comms until last week, and it was extremely frustrating. Half the time time we couldn't hear what the other person was saying.
We switched to Mumble and it's better by several orders of magnitude. Everyone is crystal clear and I've never had to repeat anything I say. |

I normally have all ingame comms turned down because I am tired of Gangnam Style or other things being blasted over comms... yesterday my RL friend finally hopped into the game and was thrown into a random squad so I used ingame comms and people were complaining about my mic.. in TS no one has issues with my mic. Some people sounded terrible to me too.
So the ingame voice comms need optimizations just like all the other parts of the game |

In game voip is simply not adequate. We communicate with our divisions via command channels. Our SL's communicate with each other via another channel. You cannot coordinate 350 on at one time with what SOE has in place.

For our Outfit? We want to talk to each other outside of the game. If you crash out of PS2, you can at least say something rather than just dropping out of voice. Established organized groups will always use out of game voice because their groups extend outside PlanetSide 2. The first thing I ever do? Disable in game voice in any game I play.

TBH, after beta ended, the quality and reliability of the in game VOIP took a noise dive in most cases.
3ed party apps are simply more dedicated, thus work better. Myself, I use 3ed party, and use the in game to supplement. |

Because Teamspeak is better, and takes about a minute to download, install and connect to the server you want, for a superior VoIP experience. Not sure where your issue is considering 3rd party VoIP has been used in every MMO and FPS I've ever played.

Do YOU want the Planetside 2 VoIP experience but DON'T have Planetside 2, then go ahead and buy the Planetside 2 VoIP mod from ME, Stormius Hall! Compatible with most well known VoIP programmes like Teamspeak or Ventrilo. INCLUDED is the great experience of random Gangnam Style and really bad comms audio for only $19.99 NOW!
