So i spent alot of money on NC and want to play HA because i like it alot but i find the weapons a pain to deal with compared to tr, then i went to the googledocs weapon comparison and was floored by what i found.
The TR's infantry weapons are generally better than NC, you cannot look at the game files or play them and say otherwise. The Em1 Nc ha weapon is probably a perfect example. Its the only weapon Nc can get that has a higher rof. The em1 has identical stats, IDENTICAL in every way to the CARV, yet it has 18% less rof and the corresponding damage. Honestly its like the dev in charge of weapon balance missed a decimal point or screwed up, its that obvious. The other weapons for ha are worse because of the accuracy. I will say it again the em1 is identical to the CARV but does 18% less damage, how in heck could this make it past testing. So a weapon we buy is 18% less effective then the stock tr ha lmg, it really boggles the mind. If they upped the bullet damage it would certainly help but no fixes incoming really makes me wonder about this game. |

I've been telling everyone who would listen not to bother with the EM1 or EM6. They're just bad weapons. Even the GD-22S is questionable, it'll do less dps than the SAW at all ranges but does not get more accurate until after the fourth consecutive shot.
Anyway, long story short, If you're a HA just use the SAW. Get your 6x scope, Advanced Forward Grip, Compensator, and maybe HV ammo(in that order). Use it like a longer range weapon. Most people use reflex sights for some odd reason and can't even respond to you while you're looking at a nice big picture of their head. When you need to move in close, the GR-22 Assault Rifle is your best bet. It's close to identical to the TRAC-5 or VX6-7(ridiculously powerful carbines) except on combat medic so you can self heal while fighting. Attachments seem less obvious on it, I use just a forward grip and 3.4x but you could probably use an advanced laser dot and do just as well or better. Chews through ammo like crazy though, you'll want to be near a competent engineer. |

The only reason I can think of in regards to the damage difference between the carv and em1 is the reload speed. The em1 reloads very quickly. But yeah, kind of lame that the ROF is slower, yet the damage per bullet is the same. Accuracy is worse, too IMO.
Still, because of those attributes, as poorer as they may be to the carv, it's still a great gun, just not as good as the carv, although better than the saw IMO, especially right out of the box. Anyways, such is the life of an NC HA player: just deal with it, don't play NC HA or switch factions. Last edited by Beerbeer; 2012-12-06 at 11:54 AM. |

That right there seems like one of those core flaws that someone at SOE should take a look at
Personally I've thought they should put in some kind of sell back system. Now you can't give people all the SC they paid for it back, that wouldn't make them any money and would turn purchases into extended trials. But give me half my station cash back, and any certs I spent for attachments etc, give me some of those too.

They're already making SC purchases account wide. Not right now, but it's in the works.
I'm not sure if that applies to other factions or just any character of the same faction though. They were mentioning that buying the "empire specific" weapons wouldn't unlock empire specific weapons on other factions so chances are that the rest will unlock on all factions. |

The problem really with this game is it takes so long to advance you don't wanna make ALTs. I've spent so much money on unlocking the weapons you need to be able to win and I don't fancy doing that on other servers. So when the server is dead when it isn't peak time, I cannot play the game because the battles are small and boring.

I also don't understand why NC are always going on about TR OP'd ness... have you tried VS weapons? Thing is all of the on paper stats don't matter if you shoot first and hit your target on the first shot you are probably going to win with the TTK's. |

The fact that you have a damage buff that amounts to needing one less round to kill is, again in my experience, far more than offset by the greater recoil and COF of the NC weapons. Burst fire works, but further reduces effective ROF, which is already lower. I don't want all the weapons to look/feel and play the same, that's just dull; but I don't personally think the NC weapons hit hard enough per round to offset their other drawbacks. Having doggedly continued trying to play NC I now have both a VS and TR alt, which I find I'm playing for fun, whilst I continue to play my NC for...well, I don't know what, bloody mindedness? |

Truth. Didn't one of the devs admit the VS have the best weapons during the later stage of beta? The VS have no problem rolling over the TR on my server, even in situations where they have slightly less populations. I personally wouldn't care about their guns being the best if it were not for them also having the best tank and best fighter. It really makes them un-fun to go up against.

Honestly I think the recoil on many of the NC weapons is way outta whack. It can't really be controlled to the same extent as the TR or recoiless VS.
I was kinda thinking since they hit harder and seem like they are supposed to be better close quarters weapons maybe they can get a buff to their hip fire accuracy. Isn't one of the heavy unlocks pretty much equal to a Carv with a smaller clip? I haven't played with any of the NC unlocks just the descriptions and well... |
