Closest thing to Warhammer

I'm enjoying this game so far and I think it's because it reminds me of 40k. Just the massive scale of battles and the futuristic setting remind me of warhammer. Except you can only play as the imperial guard or the Eldar. Still fun and I think the closest we will ever get to a good Warhammer FPS. Just hope they don't make the Orks, or the zerg problem would get even worse.

This is very far from Warhammer 40,000!

The powersuits are basically worthless, there's little to no melee combat, the armory is dramatically thinner, and not to mention that every weapon is basically an exact copy of another one except with different stats. In addition, I would liken the Vanu closer to the Tau than Eldar. Or whatever.

I really wish we had Orks, though. And if you want Zerg, bring Tyranid.

Tbh if we're going 40k comparisons:
TR = IG
NC = Orkz
VS = Choose One

Lol wow, so defensive of 40k. I know it isnt as extensive as the veriety in 40k, but look at the IG. All they have is a few weapons. Standard lasrifle, special weapons, whatever. Standard transport, light and heavy tank blah blah blah. Not saying this is like an exact warhammer, just like a base version. Like if all you ever bought were basic infantry kits for whatever army. Lol it doesnt have to be exactly 40k to remind me of it, because obviously it isnt games workshop. You could mod this game very little and have a convincing 4ok game. The NC already look like the new Cadians. Just paint them green and Khaki.

As a former Tau player, please don't compare them to the god awful VS :P also the Tau used railguns, so maybe more like the NC.

I dunno, whatever. I wasnt trying to start a nerd out, just happy to indulge my sci fi massive war love.

I think those are called Chaos Space Marines...

And I don't know what Warhammer fantasy has to do with anything. I clearly meant 40k, how is this hard with the existance of google?

It's a semantics joke, Warhammer "Fantasy" came first, was thrown into a space war setting with the "40,000" variation, then got re-branded with "Fantasy" because the space war version became more popular then the game it was based on.

I prefer warhammer fantasy lore (though I do a bit of LOTR collecting myself). I think 40k is cool but I prefer fantasy to sci fi most of the time :3

If only we could have equippable melee then my 40k fantasy would be complete.

If PS2 really did resemble 40k then I would end each of my play sessions by calling an exterminatus.

Yea, melee would be cool, but not too useful here. I can never seem to get close enough to even use my pistol most of the time. Plus the infantry is just about as useless against tanks as Warhammer. Although if I could use a power claw....

Wait, how do futuristic armies fighting on far off planets remind you of medieval fantasy armies in a medieval fantasy setting?

Can't tell if being intentionally dense, or not aware of 40K.
