Planetside 2 Main Theme (Live Instruments version from UES)

Update: Newer video with better scenes and transitions

I don't know about the rest of you, but UES is probably the first time that I've heard the PS2 theme with live instruments (the ones on YouTube are all synth)

I decided to record it and match/edit appropriate Empire videos for each empire theme

Just some basic, novice editing. Enjoy!

Although I think they've really neutered the background guitar for the NC at 0:53, compared to this

The "neutered" background guitar is appropriate for anyone who liked the PS1 NC theme. It was more violin-heavy with no guitar at all as I recall.

Planetside: NC theme - YouTube
If it was an electric violin (like the character selection theme) I wouldn't mind

This however, just makes it sound awkward. It's just so flat, so unenthusiastic. The violin can stay, but they should just increase the volume of that guitar in the background (before the other one takes over at 1:10)

They seem to have trouble fitting in the soundtrack in the game. Luperza often puts the PS2 OST as her background music during her streams (at least since the last time I've watched). There's a LOT of music yet to be put in, NC in particular

I really detest the new NC themes with the guitar.
The PS 1 these were fantastic its shame they killed it the miserable twangy country western junk.

I always played with the music on in PS 1 amd lobved but now I play with no music.

Thanks for posting that . I don't think I've heard it like that before, really good stuff. I loved the music from PS1 but like most people I turn it all off in game to be less distracting. I also love the PS2 music especialy since I don't ever have to hear that southern wiskey tango NC crap .

Electric violins with a soft touch of epic vocals > electric guitar / banjo. PS1 music was excellent for the mood and setting IMO.

^ Wouldn't have minded something closer to that either. >.>

(with vocals)

I mean, it's not like us NC get F-Zero music with epic electric guitars and keyboard instead... >.>

You know, I was NC in PS1 and even put its theme as my ringtone. I can honestly say that I really like both of those new versions. More guitar gives it almost a halo like feel where as the one with less just screams firefly.

Thanks for posting this - I'm not sure why they are holding out on us with all this great music.

They should really work to make it sound more "epic", so to speak.
Used to hate the NC theme as well but I got used to it. The rest of the soundtrack sounds great, especially their travel tracks, but the main theme just feels so incomplete.
But what you hear here is a far more epic version of the theme than what you hear when you create a character, especially @ 1:10

No problem.
I tried asking Rodney when are they going to put the rest of the tracks in the game (or release a soundtrack), but no answers. Maybe you could try
