I was just wondering if the UES event has caused a noticeable population increase. I believe that was the overall intent of doing it, to create awareness of the game to hordes of Youtube channel followers. I know they followed it up with a double XP weekend and that usually helps pop so it may be too early to tell the UES impact on it's own merit.

Double exp caused a definite increase in (active) population on Ceres. I very much doubt their little stunt has something to do with that spike. Whether it had a long term effect, I don't know.
Do they have population number available via some API? |

Steam tracks how many people are PLAYING the game, if they downloaded it through Steam. History of people playing through steam can be found at http://steamstatshistory.appspot.com/list
This weekend saw the biggest spike in 3 weeks. |

I don't believe that advertising about the Showdown linked to Steam, so I doubt it changed those numbers much. I am fortunate to be on Connery where there is a very noticeable difference. Those who are new and came to PS2 for the event, likely came to Connery. There are dozens of new outfits running around and the tone of the fights have even changed. Connery definitely received a pop boost. As for other servers, others will have to tell. I haven't been on much since I got home from LA.
Did the UES bring new players to PS2? Yes. How many? I do not know. Will they stick around? That is to be seen.

Speaking only for my outfit's website, we were averaging about seventy-five unique hits per minute for the day, with increases during the event itself. Analytics tell us most of these were new visits. We also are a multi-game entity that recruits heavily, so not sure how much any of that had to do with it.

Speaking from purely from the standpoint from my outfit (The Reddit public outfit, TEST), we have had a serious uptick in active players. We have had, on average, one Platoon strength. Over the weekend, we had 3 active platoons. I'll tell you how it goes for the rest of the week.
I would say, for the weekend, yes. |
