Bombing n BF1942

I am havng a lot of trouble hitting anything with bombs in BF1942. I find it very annoying when people bomb me with great accuracy. How do they do it? I have onl hit one thing with a bomb ever, wich just so happened to be freindly....

only advice that can work...

there are no hard rules from what I can tell as far as bombing in bf1942. no bombsight.

oh and note: a B17 is NOT a dive bomber.

Make sure you aren't dropping the bombs when you are over your target. The bombs in BF1942 (like any other bomb) will go forward with the intertia from the plane. Try dropping it right when the base is on the horizon of your screen, or a little higher than that. Also, try flying in 3rd person. I know a lot of people do not like to fly this way, but I think it really helps me judge distances. (Don't dogfight in 3rd person)

I mainly bomb/dogfight in BF1942 when I play, and this usually works for me.

Dive bomb.

This allows you to line your target up.

It is also risky and most times makes you an easy target.

Start bombing in 3rd person, until you see where the bomb actually connects, then you can pull back into the cockpit.

you need a joy stick other wise its like impossible. I just use planes to travel around and bomb boats cuz thats easy. If you suck at planes over all just master the AA gun. I somtimes get on killing sprees with that thing. I remeber all the pilots were getting pissed and wanted to do a vote kick thing... they were mad gay.

I hit the "cockpit view" button twice and get a view from the nose of the plane. My cockpit view button is on my joystick, near the throttle. I have a bomb button and just below that is a button that gives me a view from behind the plane. i line up the sight... straight level flight and in sequence hit the BOMB button then immediatley after i hit the REAR VIEW button just below it.... that way i can see if i hit anything! Then half a second or a second later i hit the COCKPIT VIEW button twice which bring me right back to the view before the bomb run. A little practice and you will always hit your target ... and never hit the ground!... this is my trick.. let me know if it works for you..... see you in the game!

If u are going for a enemy AA then and u will probably be shot down then either come directly at him on the horizon or dive bomb from above. Note: when u dive bomb go so high u cant see the ground and go to reverse thrust, then dive down and line up and go to full throttle and drop bombs before pulling up. Try to stay inches from the ground or u are a easy target.

I find that the best way to bomb a target is to gain lots of altitude then dive-bomb them. Doing this often times gives you a better chance of not being shot at while on the attack. Also, with all of the speed and inertia you gain, you'll be able to turn on a dime and pull up easily. Plus, it makes you bombs fall hard on the enemy, leaving them little time to escape the bomb. This move is especially beneficial when you're on a map that has lots of fog. This tactic will make you unpredictable as well as effective. .

Get the torpedo planes, fly low over the water, drop the torpeado a ways back (if your too close it will go under the ship), pull up (to avoid hitting said ship), hear torpeado hit, turn around, repeat.

There, now your sinking ships.
