Haven't been able to try the gun yet, so I thought it would help if I had at least an idea of how the gun would work (besides the fact that it's an SMG.) Great video review!

Your reviews are always good but I don't trust them too much tbh. I recommend you spend at least a week of intense fighting with a new gun that just got released before doing a review on it. There's no need to rush to be the first with a review of a new weapon imo.

I see what you're saying but it really doesn't take that long to get a good idea of how a gun acts. I had roughly 75 kills to get an idea. The main reason I like to get them out right away is just because people wanna know asap.

I disagree for a part. You are certainly right about people immediately wanna know "Is it any good?" and that you can get a pretty good feel for a gun quite fast (especially when comparing the stats), which makes your reviews good on the surface and will certainly will get you those quick easy page views.

But here's the thing: I want to know more than a first impression of "Is this gun any good?" As TR player, should I give up my trusted hipfire solutions, LC3 Jaguar, TAR and MSW-R for this gun that has an inferior DPS/DPM on every range? And how does this question compared with other empires? How does the added handling bonus compare in reality against the superior damage statistics of its competitors? Does the increased hit statistics make up for the lower damage output? What are the tactics you should aim for anyway when using this gun?

Answering these very important questions undeniably takes more time than playing only for a day and getting only 75 kills, which is why I take your reviews, while not being bad in itself, usually with a grain of salt tbh. It's clearly written for newer players that want quick answers and shortcuts. For in-depth analysis, people like Wrel do a far better job atm imo.

I'll never be able to tell you it's better than such and such weapon because everyone has different play styles. Not to mention it's an any class weapon so trying to compare it to multiple weapons across every class and faction would be pretty hard to do.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hate to point out something small, but buying with SC allows you to use on all characters on that account. You said, "Any accounts".

With the longer range; I have taken to calling it the "Infiltrator's Carbine" and have been using it in a manner consistant with my usual carbine usage.

You should really know by know the limits that come to play with testing guns in VR-only or preview-only circumstances. That's where these YouTuber reviews can come in handy. Provided they are more indepth than this review, which is a nice review, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't address key questions lots of players have when comparing this gun to their current arsenal.

I'm coming to the conclussion you are bored and wanted to troll someone really. If you know much about DranktheKoolaid you know he mostly just plays NC. I doubt you will get a video from him comparing the gun outside of NC. I also disagree that he needs to compare the gun to others outside their class. The NS-PDW is an SMG.. you can directly compare it to other SMGs. You should be able to form your own idea about the comparison to other SMGs to find out how it would work compared to other guns outside their class type.

Even Wrel tends to compare weapons with other weapons in their category... it just makes sense. Then to add to that neither of these YouTubers try to make a gun the next flavor of the month. They simply tell you what they feel the strengths and weaknesses are and if that falls into YOUR playstyle then maybe you should consider looking at the gun yourself.

What makes you think I want to troll DrankTHEKoolaid? I actually like this guy's video's and I'm a subscriber of the first hour. I'm just giving him feedback so he hopefully becomes better at what he does on YouTube. Releasing gun "reviews" right after release just doesn't serve him right in my modest opinion, although I can understand there's a demand for it. By my standards, I would call these "first impressions" and not "reviews".

Also just a quick correction Koolaid, the soft point ammo for the NS-PDW actually says its for medium range, but either way good review. I personally love this gun and have started using it over the other SMGs.

Re: NS-PDW Review

When I played with this gun yesterday on Esamir I had a rather hard time with it, but I decided to put that down to lag and give it a second going over on Indar. I ended up liking it a lot more there. Originally I was using the forgrip, but that did not turn out as effective as I had heard from others. I find it rather reliable all round with the laser sight. Also, that backend can double up as a sandwich compartment.

I like having a CQC that isn't as extreme as the other SMGs, something between them and the CQC carbines. The best thing about it however is its looks. The black one looks absolutely killer in my hands. They're like Daleks in that respect. Who needs to worry about stats... just so long as you look good. (heck, half the reason I use the Emperor over the Repeater is because of the name.)

There is one issue however.

The Sirius.

It feels like this gun was made to lose to the Sirius. Now that would be fine by me normally, I have nothing against the 2nd gen SMGs. But it felt like tonight every second Vanu on Miller was using the Sirius. Siriusly. It was a real headbanger all night for me. Every time I ran into someone using that gun everything just went sour afterwards.

Now listen, Vanu. I know the concepts of aiming and managing recoil are quite alien to you (hurr), but you do have other weapons, and some of them are really nice I assure you. Like the Beamer.
