So for the past few days me and the guys have felt there was a noticeable difference in our vertical thrust with the Mossy. Though I need to look over some tapes to see if I can see a difference to be absolutely sure. So please sound off if you have noticed a change in your vertical thrust regardless of faction as I have yet to hear this complaint from an NC or VS pilot.
Edit:Also would like to add that WillTerry brought up a valid point on Reddit that the change might have been simply a ninja add on of mass to the aircraft. Which would also explain why we fall so fast now when critically damaged. |

as someone who uses the ESF at best as a fast transport
at worst as bait while I flank someone on foot (it makes for a very enticing target for others) this seems like something we should have been told about, no?

This makes aircraft much more exposed to enemy AA and enemy daltons now since we lost vertical thrust . Not to mention losing all momentum and falling out of the sky once we get critical is no fun either.

Flying was already a fine balance with the old mass settings of aircraft. This change does make a substantial difference on performance especially when we are at our most vulnerable. So you may feel it is negligible but me and many others disagree with you.

Will it stop you from getting 450+ SPM? No? I think we're fine.
On a more constructive note I can't say I've noticed much of anything from the Reaver's standpoint. Then again we were already sluggish so who knows. |

Not to mention any new or med tier pilot will have an even harder time landing a critically damaged aircraft. The new physics strip you of almost all momentum and our vertical thrust can only slow your decent. They have once again made air that much more difficult for new players to master. Who ever came up with this idea needs to have his dunce hat on. Last edited by snafus; 2013-11-24 at 04:23 PM. |

So this is why last night and the night before I am finding it a lot simpler to take down other ESFs and they're not doing that whoopdie-doodie-shootup-vertically and dissappear manouver so quickly (although its still possible).
If this is the reason, I welcome the new Gravity overlords.... this has made dogfighting more realistic and longer lasting. (Rather than the pirouette of lameness that was occuring in the past) Good pilots are still "pwning" as you youngsters like to call it, but at least fights are more nose to tail flying rather then "oh someone is shooting at me" "face them" "Reverse thrust" "commence piroutte" "Person who leads with his bullets best wins" That there was what "Dogfighting" had devolved into, and I noticed a distinct but not overhauling change to that last few nights.... |

this change hit Libs also, you fall like a rock when burning now.
landing while burning now comes down to luck of the terrain that happens to be underneath you when you start your glide. if it's flat, you may not explode on contact. if it's anything else, you will. we've always flown as LA for many reasons, with a primary side benefit being that we don't need to concern ourselves with landing to repair, and thus fight to the bitter end and ditch the burning wreckage when it's served its purpose. now that it seems that the playstyle division is more clearly forced, requiring Fire Suppression if you want to survive as Engineer, and highly favoring Light Assault for Afterburner builds. it pains me to see them take steps to ruin the air game without any sort of forethought or even notice. and especially to see it affect any one faction more than the others due to "faction flavored" physical stats. |

Hope this is so, its always been a bit dumb that aircraft can park themselves over a base then when they see a rocket heading at them easily get up to max speed in a few seconds. If people want to stop above bases it should take a while to speed up again thus putting them at risk, aircraft is meant for strafing runs not hovering and blasting stuff
