Tournaments

Would this game be able to have tournaments in like TWL ladders, etc.? Or what is the competition going to be?

And when a squad captures a base does it become that squads base?

Tournaments...dunno, it's possible. That's really up to the community for the most part, but I don't think support for something like that is actually built into the game.

When a squad captures a base, it becomes their empire's base, not just that squad's. If you meant Outfits, then ditto, though if it's a large outfit, they may decide to unofficially 'claim' that base as their own, but there's nothing they can do to stop their teammates from using that base, short of TK'ing that is...

Theres no real ladder system in Planetside, but they do show which person/outfit/faction has got the most BEP's ect. for that day or week. The entire game is much like a on going tourny so enless some opposing outfits put somthin together I doubt it would happen.

Since it will prolly all be done like DAoC's website, i'm sure it wouldnt be hard for someone to use the info to make a 3rd Party Tournament site

Tournaments would be possible, if SOE lets someone set up a server temporarily or uses the test server (assuming they'll have one) for tournaments.

Could use anny other server also but, i doubt it.

When a sqaud captures a base, it becomes the EMPIRE's base.

PS-Quik ask this on the 1AD forums and you'll get more solid answers. There've been a lot of n00bs on these forums lately.

They could also just have an area set aside where grief points are disabled and is accesible to all sanctuaries but cannot be owned by a single empire.

i heard somewhere (and i kinda doubt this) that they'd add a server where there are actual "matches" in the game. like played on one continent and first team to capture the whole continent wins or something. it was made(not actual made yet) for the FPS people who want the game to end.

Tournaments would be impossible.

Lets say a TR outfit and a NC outfit are scheduled to fight over a neutral base on continent X @ 9:00.

At 8:36 the base is captured by a Vanu outfit.

Thus messing everything up and making the match impossible.

all i meant was that there could be a website tracking all of an Outfit's stats vs other Outfits :o
