1) How effective is the spitfire turrets? Damage wise and survivability. Please include stories of how you kicked arse with them.
2) Same as above but with mines/boomers. 3) Armor repair, about how long does it take to repair a friends armor? |

Well basic engineering is by far more useful than combat engineering. Healing teammates armor is quick and useful (of course if they're in a max it takes considerably longer due to the greater armor) and not to mention you can fix your own armor, which really comes in handy. The one annoyance is getting people to stop sometimes so you can fix them, as you can only do this when you're both standing still.
Spitfire turrets, which you can put out with combat engineering, are more of an annoyance than anything else. Unless you stand still in front of them they won't do much damage, and are fairly easy to destroy. |

Spitfire turrets die within about 30 or so bullets. Any missile will take them out. They don't 'own' and are pretty well balanced. Mines are useful for closing off base entrances to vehicles but they are pretty visible to infantry so you can avoid them if you just pay attention. Boomers for me are pretty much useless. The motion sensors don't detect walking stealths (much to my annoyance but others think it's good, I don't.) You repair 12 points of armor to a player and I think 24 or 32 to a vehicle each second.
