Depends, it could be a great thing in some cases(i.e. trusting parents who will only use it when the panic button is hit and something is wrong) but it will suck for those with overprotective/psycho parents who will keep tabs on their kids at all times.

Well, you could go leave it in the library or something and go pick it up later when your done doing your, errm, "bussiness"
But anyway, like Dio said, it would be great in certain circumstances when you get lost, etc, etc.

From the perspective of a parent, it's a good idea. But, since my kids are only 5 and 2, I would only use the device for when we go to crowded places where the possibility exists that some sicko would want to try and nab them.
I can see how older kids and teenagers may not like it. I know I would hate it. But these are crappy times where parents are afraid for their children's safety. I don't really see it being effective for discipline though since as someone else mentioned, you can just leave it somewhere and go on your way. |

wont work, it is just an overly optimistic item. Any child that truly does not want to be traced will find ways of getting around it, from blocking the signal, to leaving it places, to 101 things people will come up with to get around it. The panic button is nice, but wont work with some of the brighter criminals as they will go for it first, disabiling the device, then go after the kid. (sad but true). Thus I do not see this device working well.
