Hi guys I'm new here and I just had a quick question. Can you take vehicles from the other factions? And how does that work, do you need to use a hacker or anything?

Yes and yes, you can take them but you need to hack the vehicle.

It then takes the colors of your empire and is obviously a turncoat bastage of a vehicle.

Ahem... sorry, I get emotional about my vehicles sometimes

You must have a hacking cert, a hacking kit (REK -Remote electronics kit) and a certification for the vehicle your stealing, otherwise you cant drive it - just hack it.

so i you can get certs for vehicles not in your Empire?
and every vehicle has its own cert? and stolen vehicles disapear when you log?
Its kinda hard hm?

you get certs for vehicle classes i believe, such as a MBT or assault buggy cert. and the guy who hacks it doesn't necessarily have to be the one who takes it.

If you look at the certs list:

You can see that there are no EMPIRE specific certs, for example "Magrider/Prowler/Vanguard" will allow you to drive either one of those vehicles if one is hacked.
