Its COF is pretty insane right now when compared to say the Cycler. Yeah its powerful but not my favorite rifle.

Eh I actually prefer the punisher over it. Grenades and rockets come in handy and the gauss is nothing impressive like I had been hearing about /shrug

When I use the Gauss, it's my best friend inside bases, outside bases...meh..it's alright I suppose, but I'd rather have a punisher. But a Gauss rifle is definitly good in CQ comabt, especially against MAXs. A little off-topic, is it just me or do like all the NC weapons specilize in CQ combat?

The gauss was downsized recently, but I still love it. Carry one in almost all my configs.

Phoenix isn't CQ

i'll tell you one thing. i'm Terran Republic and use the cycler but when i get the chance to put the gauss in pack, i take it man. i love the gauss so much. the cycler and gauss are my favorite weapons. if you choose NC, take the gauss.

Gauss is pretty good. I was on last night for the first time and I found myself defending the basement of a tech plant. As long as you space between shots (I like to compair it to the AK in CS) you are almost dead on. Practice in the VR area to get said spacing.

But yeah, I wacked two or three Vanu at a time before they killed me. Then I spawned, ran down there and faught them back some more. Killed a few, died. ect...
We still lost, but it was damn fun.

Gauss is fun, don't like the Pulser much. Cycler is cool for close fights as well.

So gauss is like the ak, eh? I've been thinking of the gauss as an ak47 and a cycler as an m4a1. Am I correct in believing this? Or is the cycler bad at ranges? I much prefer the ak over the m4 in cs.

Ven. More or less. I play a lot of CS and I tend to compair the items in order for it to make sense in my mind.

But the Cycler is more like the M4 if it had a scope. Or maybe just the Styr.

I've heard that the cycler is terrible at range, but the m4 is stunningly accurate at range.
