What's your favorite hobo expierence and what city did it take place in?
Mine was in Madrid, we had rented a Jeep wrangler (by idea) and we driving down the streets and hit a traffic light. Some guy walks up to us cuz the car covers down. He starts screaming something like Quiero Dinero !!! Muerdo Muerdo !!! and so we get freaked out and start to drive away and he dives in front of our car screaming at us to give him money so in order to get him to move I reached into my pocket and threw a bunch of change all over the ground... then he just said Chupa mi Changa...

There was this guy in our neighborhood named "Fred" he used to wake up, buy a burger from mcdonalds, and walk back to this wooded are he slept in, one time when i was at mcdonalds we saw him, we all knew him around the neighborhood, but he was kinda spooky.
He was staring straight at the ground and my friend goes "HI FRED". Fred proceeds to shift his eyes from the ground to my friend, after about 5 seconds of dead silence fred screams "DIE FUCKER" and lunges at my friend, The guy was an old army vet so when he lunged he actually just flopped onto the floor. The cops were called and fred was never seen again |

I was at Christiansted on St. Croix walking through their touristy rip me off shopping district. If you've ever been to the Virgin Islands, then you know how shady some spots can be... Anyway I was walking through this little alley type thing and there was this homeless dude that said "hey, gimme some money" and I just ignored him and kept walking. I went inside an upscale clothing store and across the window runs this bum into the store next to the one I was in. Shortly thereafter ran a guy with a 4 ft. 2x4 chasing after him, and just as I went out to see what was going on, the dude hit him right in the face with this 2x4.
He didn't die, and it wasn't a heartwarming story, but that's the only homeless person experience I've ever had. BTW St. Thomas is a much better place for vacationing. |

Well, walking across a parking lot in an area of the city that I used to work in.. this guy comes up, kind of old. He asks me, "Can I have some money so I can get something to eat?".
I reach into my lunch bag and pull out some potato chips I had wrapped in a paper towel. I tell him, I don't have any money on me, but you can have this. He thanks me and walks on. I was thinking he MAY have wanted money just for booze, so I thought it best to follow what he said, and give him food instead. Another time, a guy walked up to a friends driver window while we were parked on a city street. He kept asking for change and looking down at her tire like he was going to do something to it.. he seemed a bit hostile, like he was conveying that he was going to slash the tire if she didn't. So.. she popped into gear and put the pedal to the metal!

Was sitting at a drivethru when this classically homeless looking guy (dirty trenchcoat and everything), saunters on up to my window.
He managed to get out "Hey, babe" before I hit him in the face with a wrench. Turns out he had been accosting people there all night, and I made it pretty easy for the cops to nab him |

It was a 1" wrench sitting on my passenger side seat because earlier I was trying to fix the speedometer sensor
Come to think of it, that could be pretty handy to keep for self defense. One can still get in a load of trouble for using a knife, even if it was in self defense and the guy has a knife as well |

So there was famous hobo that went by the name 'Dre Dog' and he used to hang out downtown around this resteraunt I used to work at. You'd see him all the time, and you'd slip him some money every so often. The funniest thing I ever heard him say was "hey hey hey! mike can I get 2 dolla?" I only had a 5 on me and I gave it to him and the next day he gave me $3 in change! Coolest hobo ever.

I was in San Fransico on vacation, we were about to get on the ferry to Alcatraz and I noticed a guy sitting on the curb with a sign that read "Why lie? I want a beer." I figured that at the very least he was honest and gave him a 20.
*EDIT: I remembered what the sign said*

at some of these stories.
There used to be a hobo around here everyone called Weird Harold. He'd come to this convenient store/deli everyday for a sandwich and a drink. He never asked for money, but people would give him some. Harold wore a black coat with a black hat and had long hair. I think he slept somewhere in the woods close to a nearby park. |

lol this happened just yesterday.
I'm walking to school, and i have my headphones (playing Korn) blaring, so i see this homeless guy doing something to a cars windshield wipers, I didnt really care what at the time, but as I'm walking past him. He JUMPS at me, yelling AHHH! so it scares the shit out of me, i jump out of the way, and watch as he crashes to the ground, I continue walking looking back at him to make sure hes not following me. The guy walking behind me just gives me a weird look I took to mean as "Well, its LA what do ya expect?" Was hilarious afterwards. Iam now the hobo maget to some of my frnds... lucky me. |
