Some advice for TR Heavy Assault...

Hey guys, just a quick question. When using heavy assault as TR (chaingun), is it worth it to carry both types of ammo? Switch to AP for MAX's and use regular for infantry? or is it more worth it to just go all out AP since the rate of fire is so high that generally speaking even AP bullets should still mow through infantry? I've been trying to decide because currently my loadout is 200 normal bullets and 100 AP, but when I switch to AP to try to take out a MAX, that one clip goes REALLY fast. Any advice would be appreciated.

I carry 200 standard 100 AP rounds, but I also have a striker, so I only use the AP round when i'm out of striker ammo really.

I Carry around 2 jackhammers, 1 loaded with Normal rounds and 1 loaded with AP rounds. it saves you switching Ammo types (reload on Jackhammer is hellishly long) AP ammo is a MUST for taking out a Max if you dont have any AV weapons.

So if you can, carry 2 Chainguns with each type of ammo and a few spair clips of each. Never underestamate the power of AP ammo, I took out a Reaver with my Jackhammer once

I kind of like the idea of two chainguns, may make that a possible loadout. Currently my plan is to go heavy assault/AV, so I'll have a Chaingun and a Striker. Will obviously use the chaingun for inf, and the striker vs tanks etc. I assume that a striker would be overall more useful vs tanks than a chaingun w/ AP ammo. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Mini-gun and Striker is my setup right now.

To use the mini-gun on a MAX you need to be in close to medium range, which is exactly where the MAX is designed to fight. I stay as far as hell away from them as i can. Even when your up close and side stepping around you still get hit. Alot, if they do splash damage.

A good way to conserve rockets with the Striker is to never use them on Reavers, Mosquitos or Galaxies. Get a lock on them and 95% of the time they hit the after burners. If they dont move, then you shoot. As for Galaxies, they just have too much armor for a Striker to do much damage. Unless you know its near death, dont waste your ammo.

I'm starting a collection of Cyclers for my own use as Vanu. We just spent 2 hours securing Zaqar and the nearby towers because A) we had to restart the hack 4 times due to zone crashes and B) the Cycler is so superior to our weapons that we had to bring in heavy support and stealthers to hack the towers and gain full control. When I had a Cycler I was tearing up some TR though
