Angry I can't believe it... My Computer is Dead.. again

Original thread: Here

*sigh* 36 hours later, my computer is dead... again. Well I'm broke, but I need help. I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong. I thought I found it, but apparently not. Anyhow, read the previous thread.

I have replaced:
Power Supply
Case
Motherboard

I have a new stick of RAM

Original parts:
P4 2.2
512 Mushkin Black 333mHz
PNY GeForce 4 Ti4600
Sound Blaster Audigy
WD J 120GB HD w/ 8MB Cache

I am extremely frustrated. That's all I got.

Also, when it starts up I get a blue screen o' death (XP Style) with a huge message but basically what it comes down to is "BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG". Can't start in safe mode or last good mode.

Shit Kiwi; I'm stumped. Read last thread and by the end was sure it was the mobo; only to read here and see your still having problems.

I hope it all works out for you and please keep me updated; I'll keep my 'thinking cap' on.

Regards,

I'm getting a UPS to completely rule out power issues today (for free) so that is one less thing on my list once I get that.

It's dead but it boots up?

How far do you get before it fucks up?

I am actually believing it is a power issue at the moment (this house was wired funky, never trusted it). If it is a processor issue, it's ok, I was replacing it in two weeks anyhow. Hehe

Grats.

Anyhow, UPS on my computer now. Computer started up, I'm on it. Ran SiSoft Sandra burn test on high 10 times through, computer lived. Benchmarks all seem normal. Computer seems stable. Now time to wait and see.

If you're getting a P4 3ghz w/800mhz FSB please die.

Sorry to hear that you're still having problems. I am stumped at this point.

No, it will probably be a FSB update more then anything. 2.2 to most likely 2.4, maybe 2.6.

My friend's mom had a house that killed pc's about every 6 months. That was some really bad wiring. They put a UPS on a new Dell and so far its lived.

Are you still getting the blue screens? Random reboot could be a memory issue. If your set pretty agressive, try turning them down some. Run something like memtest. Change Command Dram to 2T if your on 1T, though its a real performance hit it can stablize things. If your processor is to blame you can try underclocking it some. What kind of heat you get on it now?

Nothing is set aggressive. I ran SiSoft Sandra in burn mode on high for a good 3 hours and nothing happened. I really am perplexed.

Tempature of my CPU runs around 45 C and I have a warning at 60 C which has never gone off.

UPS is on it, I think the power may have damage my computer in the first place (since I can find very little in the way of other logical reasons besides flat out failure), but I am still having problems.

Sounds like an OS problem... did you run Defrag anytime as of late ?

I would suggest saving files onto CD or another HD and reformat the HD/ reinstall

Any sign of critical errors ?

XP hasnt done me wrong yet.. but theres always a chance
