Can you use microphones in this game?

Sorry but I haven't purchased the game yet, going to get it tomorrow, and want to know if I should get a headset or not.

I wouldn't get a headset, cause there will ALWAYS be that time to you try to get up with your headset still on. Ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Ok.
Get a Boom Mike. The kind that either set on top of, or to the side of your monitor.
Unless you listen thru headphones ALL the time, then a headset is a good idea.

Well I play natural selection and counterstrike with headphones on all the time. I have a mic, but I sort of have to lean in when I want to talk to the people or talk a bit louder and I need to get a new set of headphones anyways. I figure if I get a decent headset it'll sound much better and I can easily talk to people.

I rarely use my speakers/sub anymore except to listen to music.
