Are you glad you bought PS?

Hi everyone, I'm considering buying PS but I just wanna know how many people think PS is worth the money! I only ask because the last couple of games I bought I've regretted buying and I don't want to make the same mistake again.

Also, I'm upgrading to a 2.6ghz 512 ddr PC this summer but at the moment I'm running an athlon 1ghz with 256 sdram and a radeon 8500. Is it worth buying PS before I upgrade or will it just run like sh*t?

One more thing - what are the pings like on the european server for people in the UK?

Thanks for the help,

-Whiteh

Hey,

Honestly... I don't believe it was worth the money.

I paid for it and got the one month thing but I'm bringing it back today. I don't really think its worth the money and its not the greatest. The monthly payment really turns me off on it. I'm going to stick with HL related games until the release of HL:2. =/

Planetside is one of the few games in recent history I feel was worth every single penny paid. I highly suggest buying this game if you like the FPS genre.

No regrets here. You may be unhappy until you upgrade your machine, however...

Im a very very picky person when it comes to games. Nothing could even compair to Counterstrike. I have hated every single game i've bought since. This game is the r0x0rz. The battles are so intense and challenging and there are so many things to do. My favorite thing to do is fly my reaver over unguarded towers hotdrop or land (stealthed) on them hack my way in and hack the tower controls then i fly on to the next tower ...or i sneek around huge battles knifing people and setting up spitfires right in the middle of all of them...get this game it is WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

I'm happy I got PS, my wife isnt though.

It will be rough on your old system with that little RAM.

It's very likely unplayable on your current system.

And other then that the game itself just isn't to a lot of people's taste yet. The first couple of weeks are a blast but the game is EXTREMELY limited in terms of what to do. It's true the squad aspect actually works, which I can't think of any other game that it does, and the shooting elements ain't bad, but the game is barren at this point, you'll be bored rather quick. I'd wait 5 months to let them get their act together and you'll have a pc that can play it.

Don't buy this game until you have at least 768 MB of RAM. This game is a lot of fun, but without enough RAM, you will probably not get full enjoyment out of it.

512 MB is bare minimum for this game, and even that will create a large swapfile during even smaller battles.

???

It should run fine on that system, you guys are crazy, he dosnt need the settings on max.....

it runs fine on an P3 866, 768 ram, and a G4 440

It also runs very well on my P4 2.4, 512ddr ram, and G4 4600

It also runs well on a 2.4 ghz, 256 ram, and unknown vid card (not my system)

so I think that it would work with the min needed ram (256) well enoguh since he has min on everything else, he just wont be able to turn the game on high settings thats all....

Oh ya, also in america, I can play on the Euro server with no real lag (no more than anywhere else) and ping there from Texas at about 100ish vs the normal 60-70ish that I get on the state side servers
