I hve a question on the NC's AV weapon, the pheonix. I realize that it is controlled by the shooter once fired however, can the shooter low the missile up in mid-air. For instance, he fires at an AMS and starts guding the missile and someone comes up to the NC and starts shooting at him. Can he blow the missile up if it didnt hit his target so he could turn around and fire back?

ive been using the phoenix pretty extensively, and im like 95% sure it doesnt go into dumb fire mode, but rather when you hit the mouse button again after firing, it detonates the missle and explodes where it is in mid air. Useful if you miss your target, can still get him with a little splash. But, on the other hand, if you fire a missle and get killed while your guiding the missle, then the missle goes dumb fire and if it kills something you get credit for it, even if your dead.

I use the Phoenix alot, when you click your mouse again releasing the missle it detonates. If you die it does go into dumb fire. I think they really need to add a secondary attack to it which would be dumb fire and they should make it more effective against infantry. I mean its a huge rocket that takes a reaver down in 3 or so hits yet it takes like 3 or 4 rockets to kill an infantry. Its pretty good against max's tho

Does it still take like 7 shots to kill an ANT? I never got a count on how many to kill an AMS, i kept running outa ammo. It just seems really useless against vechicals for an Anti-vech weapon. It is fun to use, wish the sensitivity was higher.

Yea, thats why i just keep a few ACE on hand. Sneak up behind vech, plant boomer, back up, shoot them so they turn around, and the blow them up.
I snuck up on a planted TR max as a vanu infiltrator was trying to knife him. Planted behind the vanu, walked away. Max unplanted and started turning as i detonated, killed um both lol. |

If they didn't reduce damage from AV weapons vs. infantry, it would be like BF1942 where everyone's running around with antitanks and blowing the crap out of each other with no skill.
Anyways, it seems like they're doing about the same antitank vs. infantry balance that they used in the command and conquer series (Same number of tank shots to kill a tank as to kill a person). Infantry were damn hard to kill with shells of any kind in those games. A half dozen of em could take out the lighter tanks and only lose one or two men. So you needed to have some infantry along for the ride to kill THEIR infantry with the much more effective bullets.
