a little tip to gauss rifle users...

From what I've seen lately, many NC using the gauss rifle are spraying and praying. I absolutely don't know why they are, but 5 out of 6 NC players I meet do this. Not only does that make your accuracy HORRIBLE, it also increases your chances of hurting your teammate (which happened to be me in many instances). Has anyone else noticed this, or am I going insane

Well not ALL CS people are spray and pray, because they'd go nowhere with that. UT2k3 players are the TRUE spray and preyers =)

CS players spray and pray? Myself being an "uber" cs player (lol), you won't go anywhere spraying. If you see alot of spraying, you must be playing on public servers. Play in a professional league, you won't see and spraying.

Actually, this is the point. At medium-short range, the Gauss never misses unless the player doesn't keep the crosshairs down. Even at long ranged the weapon is extremely accurate. The reason so many people "spray and pray" with the Gauss is because it is an extremely accurate weapon, and spraying and praying works.

To compare for yourself, pick up a Cycler sometime and test the accuracy. Gauss is by far the more accurate rifle.

funny thing is, me with cycler vs d00d with gauss, at range, i win, close up, he wins. imo, cycler is better for range, esp in burst fire.

The point is that the Gauss is capable of firing in much longer bursts than the Cycler, even going so far as to full auto at relatively close ranges and experience virtually no stray shot (excluding faulty aim on the part of the player).

You may want to get a Gauss rifle off the coffin of an NC sometime to test it first-hand.
