A friend of mine recently reformatted his hard drive and has had alot of problems with it since. My 20gig HD is totally cluttered with useless stuff and I was going to reformat it untill I heard from my friend that it can cause problems.
Is there something he possibly did wrong that caused the problems? Is there a certain way I should go about reformatting my HD so that I dont have similar problems? Should I even reformat at all?

When you install a brand new system, it is vital that you format your hard drive. THis gives the new mobo a fresh slate to have drivers installed. It will save you a lot of headache also.
