I am not bashing them but being a Combat Eng i never see them or they just never help me. When PS goes to the shelf i am thinking of being a medic. So my question is does any use one and do they like it? Oh and by the way TR will rain down on all of you like Brimstonefrom the Gods

I'm a medic... its hard because u have to get people to stop moving, even though it blinks SOMEONE IS TRYING TO HEAL YOU if you move while someone heals you, some people still wont sit still, even with the obvious message, I try to heal best I can, but for reviving, all you can do is let your squad know now to respawn, I throw a big message out in local chat too but it never works, people always release, i think advanced medics should be a little cross on the radar, letting people know "hey dont respawn just yet, there is a doctor in the house"

The medic is extremely useful at the Advanced level. However, this only apllies when used in certain situations and when used playing with ones outfit. A medic is invaluable when defending a CC after being hacked by your forces. The amount of times i've been saved from running back to the CC for 10 minutes by being revived is well...quite a few times
Anyway, overall the medic doesnt seem to be that effective. However, in certain situations [as stated above] you'll be thankful you had one!

Medics can be very nice to have in a fight. Especially if you break the enemy's lines. If you are hiding behind one of those blast shield things, waiting for a move to take, you wanna be there with somebody with Engineering, Medical, and a BANK and Med. App.

In a really good squad that stays together and works as a team, the advanced medic is the most valuable soldier in the field. In a pickup squad where everyone does their own thing, medics are virtually useless.

I'm a Medic. It really is a fun occupation, but as far as revivals are concerned, don't expect many success stories. Usually if my squad is involved in a base attack or defense, I usually break off from my guys and run around like mad trying to repair any friendly who will stand still long enough.
It is the good sumaritan role of PS, and I plan to stick with it. It has the added bonus of keeping myself alive longer during heavy fire situations. |

I knew a guy who set up local macros, saying he could revive you - so stay dead, and also to stand still because he can heal/repair you. It worked fairly well.
How do you set up macros anyway?

^that's a good idea, I should try that out.
type: /macro die /l I am an adv medic, don't respawn if you die! that will create a little macro bubble with the word "die" in the middle that sends a local message and you can place it on your quickbar. |

It would be nice if you could put a medic or a eng. icon over you're head. I am a combat enginer and during big fights I just run around and repair all I can but I find I waste time chasing people who either wont stand still or dont need it. That way they could come to you. Or maybe a specical armband on youre armor, now granted that would make you a sniper target, but I'd live with it. Also it would be nice if eng. could see youre armor levels below youre health bar.

Yep, voice macros like that are the shizzle. I mentioned something to the same effect in this thread...
Official Forum Update Medic Thread The syntax for text macros is pretty really easy too. If you forget, check the Help. It's under HUD>>Shortcuts I believe. I love being a adv medic/eng. I can fight the enemy fairly well with my agile armor and Pulsar, but I need to stick with a pack in order to stay alive and keep my teammates alive.
