Kinda, but there are a couple factors, you don't actually fly across an ocean to another continent, you enter a WarpGate which teleports you to another continent, also, you have to own the Base that is attached to the WarpGate to be able to use it. There are, I think, 3 Warpgates on every continent which each lead to another continent, and so on.

hehe I ahd fun testing this out one day, No you cannot fly directly from continent to continent. a few miles out into the ocean, your craft loses power and takes a nosedive. I dont suggest trying this with a galaxy full of impatient ppl. but fun while waiting for a friend.

too bad cause I think it would be cool if you were suddenly to launch an assault against an enemy continent. the way I figure it, the time it takes to travel the oceans should be pretty long so that this wouldn't happen very often at all. of course you would zone at some point because all the continents couldn't possibly be in in the same zone. If it took you 30 minutes to fly from one continent to another then it wouldn't be used that often, but I think the possibility should be there.
