Yes, 12.95 is not THAT much. Yes, I know about production costs and maintenance costs.

However...

It's the same price to play some other online games that have a heck of alot more content in them. There is no way that it costs the same to maintain PS as compared to EQ. I consider this overpaying.

When you start paying for several online games, like I do, you have to compare what you are getting for your monthly fee content-wise, as well as enjoyment.

Just watch, I also bet they'll have us buy expansion packs.

He means the game runs on YOUR computer, not theirs, so the amount of processing and bandwidth power required at their end is significantly less than the scheme that planetside will be using. I really strongly recommend that you either improve your language skills (I'm guessing that english isn't your native language), or stop getting into arguements where you have no facts.

you would have to pay lik 3 games (full price, $50) each year, just to run one game who doesn't add any VERY special feature to the FPS-genre, exception for its size.

What would you rather do, spend $155 per year on Planetside, or $500 a year buying 10 other games.

Diablo 2 servers are automated... the blizzard servers are basiclly chatrooms with crappy anims.

The game is hosted on the computer of the game creator.

No devs are there to catch the cheaters hackers and bugs.

The updates happen almost never

The connection is horrible!



Now the cost for PS is basicly for maintenance, they pay their employees the dev's they cover the damned game's cost to produce it. You get many updates no cheaters or hackers... Now don't tell me the shit you think they can do, coming from the guy that didnt know that D2 games were hosted on your computer.

The costs are for server maintinence, not for content. That's why you pay for the box. If you think about it, PS servers will take a lot more maintinence than an EQ server, with no PvP combat. If you don't like it, stop whining and go buy HL2, no-one cares.
