Well, are you going to reply to Archonxvi's question to resolve your jetpack problem or not? Can't beat a dead horse anyway, which is where the jetpack idea was going, not gonna happen!!

maneuverability and concealment.

its easier to spot a vehicle than it is a person. that person can use the ground or the air to attack. they will be harder to spot initially....and easier to lose track of in the heat of battle...

and they are more maneuverable. quick changing of firing direction etc...


its apparent it wont be included but maybe its something for an expansion. who knows. it adds a bit more depth

What good would a jetpacker do in combat, most likely be anti infantry, correct? but there are other anti-infantry craft, either MAX or the assault buggy's, which have gunner positions.

So in battle either A) your lightly armored jetpacking ass will get mowed down by the enemies anti-infantry craft. or B) your heavier anti-infantry craft will tear apart the enemy infantry faster than you can.

the only things i can see a jetpack being useful for is snipers, reaching better sniper positions, but isnt that what a mosqitoe(sp?) is for? or for lone wolves, taking on other lone wolves w/ the advantage of mobility. But that isnt the purpose of the game, you should fight in groups to achive objectives, rather than dm'ing quake style.

you make it sound like there will be a vehicle every 50sq feet in game to rip shit up.

theres bases to be taken and held....and there arent always gonna be vehicles around when you need them...is all im saying.

vehicles wont last forever and they wont be everywhere. thats why you would have alternatives.

and like i said....increaded maneuverability and such.

one person controlling their movement/aim in some situations is better than one guy driving and one guy trying to shoot

Hmmm interesting discussion....

Rocket booster super packs would be fun, but I think the bigger challenge is having to use trees for cover, and while packs would be nice, I had enough of that in T2, and I dont want packs being used in every game now, I hope that boosters stay as a T2 original/exclusive.

Jetpacks don't have to be in every game but it sort of would make more sense to have them in this game since the maps are so big. Either way I don't mind but it would be more convenient to have a jetpack.

yes, not all games were made for jetpacks, this is 1 of the few than can go either way.

I personally hope that PS has NO jetpaks
