This is mainly for folks who have been around the block here at PSU You know who you are hehe. Staff will not comment for the most part, I am just interested to see what people have to say..
What do you think of the current state of these forums? Have you considered leaving at any time recently? What would make you stay? Has there been a time where you thought the admins/mods should have locked a thread, or banned a user? Just give me your 2 cents about PSU's forums, dont worry about being deleted, locked, or moderated. Be as up front as possible, we are all ears EDIT: One thing we cant forget is this is a very busy time for PS, there will be a TON of people coming and going from PSU. Probably more coming than going, so just hold on tight. It will be worth the ride |

Well, when I joined, the quality was 95% great. There were two spammer/trolls, Bighoss and RabidPlatypus. They were the ONLY two. There were between 500-1000 members, can't remember now, no screens of Reavers, practically nothing known about game, all idle speculation.
Good times. Now, I'd say 50%. Trolling newbies run rampant, every three posts in GD is "PS sucks" people spam, flame, and act with total BM. Very Bm indeed. Unreg left, eMa left, I very nearly left, and only remain due to the fact this is the only way to stay in contact with FC. Tobias is gone, and many others have disappeared. Squeeks catches flak from recruits, soldiers, and total unknowns all the time, when it used to be just lighthearted joking. -ho- is gone, half-the-sky never posts, Manitou doesn't post much, neither does Thronebeast. I don't see what to do about this, except make a Good Manner forum where moderators ban you pretty quick if you're BM. Heh, paradise. |

This place suck! You guys are all fucktards and idiots!!!!
Uhhh... i mean this place is great...yeah... Nah in all seriouness (well as serious as i ever am on the net ) this place is fine, obviously it's not what it used to be, any great site will always grow and expand so yeah i(and i'm sure others) miss the good old days when everybody knew everybody and PSU had a very family feel to it but that was inevitable. Lately there had been a sudden surge of not so PSU material(i won't name names but if you check my posts from the last few days you'll figure it out) but it seems to be back to normal now. I wouldn't change a thing Hamma. Maybe give mod powers to everybody in staff (last i checked they didn't all have them) and/or hire more forum cops to make sure the ever growing population stays sane and calm and(but this is just me) less fear to issue temp bans, i don't think we need that many but a few people here could use a warning. I don't really think anybody currently deserves a perma ban though, nothing is that bad yet. All in all a VERY good job by the staph, as usual. |

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Closing registration is a little unreasonable, but not enough for me to argue against it. And as for everyone who has just disappeared or stopped posting, I could do another "Where is Everbody?" thread and people who haven't posted for weeks or months will come back in the next hour. Happened last time.

Let squeeks ban himself. Lol, I wonder i that is possible.
I personaly think PSU is not in all that bad of shape. I have never thought of leaving. The only thing that bugs me is all the people saying PS sucks. I personaly like people like unregistered, and darkbahyne(sp?). They add a little flavor to the fourms. I personaly thought Unrig's post in the cat thread was funny. I hate cats, and I have a rather sick sence of humor. But thats just my oppinoin. |

Oh Neo brings up a good idea that might help the n00b rush a lot of the vets fear, i don't know if it's possible with these forums but a gameFAQs type of regulation would be a good idea. Like(these numbers are just examples) recruits can only post 20 times a day, soldiers 50 with a 15 posts/hour limit, and well Vets and higher have no regulations, once there you've pretty much proven you're not a troll and/or spammer. Like i said, not sure if any of that is possible but it would help prevent n00bs from registering and spamming every post to get to Admiral in 3 days.

I agree Dio, sometimes Im kinda stupid but it really does piss me off when people go around saying PS sucks on a PS fansite, man can people even read anymore?
Theres alot of useless posting going on too, wich im trying to cut down on doing. It also makes me sad when you see someone register, then post once and never post again. |
