What aspect of the game is most appealing to everyone?
The huge world to battle in, the vehicles, or maybe the fact your Character can be everchanging? I personally am appealed by all three of those, but mainly the large area to battle in, and the ever changing characters AND worlds.. |

I look forward to the different assets you can use to accomplish missions.
I mean, lets look at a specific example and see how it could be done: Mission: Capture Enemy Base Complex -Mission Assets --Pilot, 2 (1 Mosquito, 1 Galaxy) --Hacker, 1 --Medic, 1 --Heavy armor, 2 --Skirmisher, 4 --Scout, 1 --Commander, 1 --Tactician, 1 --Engineer, 2 //////////////// -Mission plan --Mosquito escorts Galaxy into drop zone --Drop assets >--Two teams ---Systems Infiltration Team (Infiltrate by stealth if possible and hack into enemy routines gaining access and control of enemy systems) ----Hacker, Scout, Engineer, 1 Skirmisher, Tactician ---Base Assault Team (Provide tactical cover and diversion for Systems Infiltration Team, while engaging and suppressing enemy forces. Provide Base defense once enemy base has been secured) ----Medic, 2 Heavy Armor, 3 Skirmishers, Commander, Mosquito (air support) Now this is just an example of what an assault may be like. This process, including the planning, assignment of assets, execution of the assault and the subsequent neutralization of enemy forces is what is so appealing to me!

Mani is trying to earn CEP's before the game even comes out!!!
There are a few things that interest me about the game, but the fact that the more I play, the more Powerful I can become. I can't wait to try on that heavy armor and get to a point where I can drop from a Galaxy and tear up some poor bastards base!! The other thing that interests me is the style of game play. I think BF1942 already shows us that this type of game play is fun and does work. It should be fun to look at maps of the cotinents and see where the lines of control are drawn. It's going to be the ultimate game of Capture and Hold! The other thing that interests me about the game is Dave G's involvement. Many people blame him for messing up Tribes 2, the whole Sport vs War argument. I don't think Dave messed the game up at all. I just think his vision of the game was a head of it's time. The technology really wasn't there to support T2 correctly when it was released. I mean the game was made to have 64 player servers, but none of the players had the hardware to run them. So here we see Dave trying to create that same dream he had for T2 in Planetside. Only this time he has the power of Sony behind him, so the Hardware to run the game the way it was ment to be run should not be an issue. But most of all I'm looking forward to falling in love with this game. |

Oh, the usual...
1) Organized team play 2) Blowing the **** out of everything/everyone 3) Leadership/Tactician roles 4) Well-intigrated support roles such as medic, hacker, or pilot 5) Caputre/defend complexes 6) Excellent eye candy 7) Advancing in rank 8) Helping others 9) Promotes world peace 10) Get paid $100 for every hour I play 11) Learn telekinesis and telepathy (amongst other psychic abilities) Well, maybe not the last few... Anyway, this game looks ULTIMATE. It seems like it's been in the works forever, but as long as when the game actually comes out and it WORKS then it'll be well worth the wait. In fact, I'll probably scream, "Sweet nectar of life! BOO YAH!" (as the Sam Adam's commercial best put it). If this game actually incorporates all the things they've stated... This'll be more addictive then EverCrack, Tribes 2, Half-Life, Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot, and nicotine all rolled into one. In fact, mentally imbalanced people will probably commit suicide due to the sheer addiction factor of this game. Thankfully, for the majority of us, it will just result in lost communication from the outside world and the leaving or prevention of having girlfriends (or boyfriends, depending on which kind you prefer ). Anyway... My only beef with this game is lack of information at this point. Sure, we have all the weapons and vehicles, but it seems... incomplete at best. Also, NO SCREENSHOTS OF VANU HEAVY ARMORS! What will they look like? Cool? Ghey? A combination of bothc (Ghol? Coey?)? Also... I don't think there've been any up-to-date Vanu screenshots in awhile. Do they look the same? Were they replaced with something else? WUT?! As a pessimistic side note... I'd laugh so incredibly hard if they just suddenly scrapped the project. Then I'd cry.

on a serious note, I suspect there will be more info about the game soon, as they start getting more finalized. They probably dont want to release info that ends up being cut, or not working out. Its probably for the best |

Agreed. But still... Mez wanna know now!
I take it you're gonna be Terran, regardless, eh Otto? I can't say what I'll be... I want to be Terran just for the undenyable fact that they look cool. The Heavy Armor? Oh yeah... That's the stuff. Much more well rounded than the edgy looky NC Armor. You can't leave fashion out of the equation. I figure I'll be one of the few Terran guys holding a Shotgun (Flechette Rifle). Sure, NC get's better ones, but man... Shotguns are just so easy to use! And nearly always useful, regardless of what game your playing (as long as it's under the right conditions). I hope to become a true Terran sho(t)gun! Get it?! You know... my Avatar is of a Samurai Master? And a Shogun is also a Japanese Warrior? No? Well... I thought it was funny.

I'm looking forward to the satisfaction of gaining another rank in CEP as you rush the close-knit squad of the few yet best soldiers you could find behind enemy lines.
As your scout picks off lonely opponents from a distance a friendly mosquito flys overhead covering you from the skys. While the heavies protect the hacker, those on assault aided by the medic dash forwards in a blaze of firepower to take control of that vital outpost. Round every corner, a straggling opponent, helpless and insignificant against such an onslaught ... and oh look, I can now certificate myself in the use of some heavier armour and I can afford that lovely magnification implant that someone should have got me for christmas
