I'm sorry to hear that MTX. That's an unfortunate result of life in this state. Texas rarely grants rights to the father of children and it's based on nothing more than the idea that children are somehow better off with their mother.

There is a lawyer here in Dallas that works solely with fathers of divorce cases to get them full custody. I can hunt down the name if you wish to fight this.

You can't put any child in a position where he or she has to choose between one of her parents. Divorce is hard enough without putting that type of pressure on a child. However, I was 12 when my parents got divorced I knew immediately that I wanted to live with my mother, I'm sure she has a feeling one way or the other.
