Grab an upgrade for the 3d card and you'll be pretty set. Another 512 stick of ram wouldn't hurt either and will run you around 100 bucks. You can get an ATI Radeon 9500pro for less than 200 on ebay (be sure to check feedback before buying ) and will run most next gen games quite nicely (HL 2, DE2 and Doom3). The Geforce FX cards may look nice for cheap but they're not great for gaming. It's too early for 256 ram, the cards aren't advanced enough to use it all. If you can really wait (or get a GF4 MX440 to hold you over for $50 ) I think around november early december some more revolutionary cards are going to surface.

Unless you've bought your laptop within the last 6 months, it'll not run Planetside. Most laptops only allow you to upgrade ram/hd space, not graphics cards. You're basically screwed.

you can upgrade vid cards for laptops, but its uber expensive. I believe you can get one custom made ($$$$) for the laptop, but then you have to ship it to the laptop warehouse and get them to put in the card, unless you know what your doing of course, or else you will absolutley f-up your comp. Like I said, uber expensive
