anyone else besides me think that soe is purposely over compensating when they try to supposively " even out the empires" just to throw some curves in the game? it seems like a likely possibility to me... or the entire company is fuilled with fucktards

Achieving "balance" is more or less impossible.
The problem is that you are not just dealing with the numbers (and when you are trying to introduce some variety as well, that isn't easy), but player perceptions. Unfortunately (but predictably), perceptions and reality can vary widely. Sometimes very widely. |

That, and some people always let their personal emotions -- often which are based on very limited actual experience -- interfere with their ability to think rationally on the subject. Guy gets wasted a couple times in the spawn tube by a mini-chaingun, and there's a chance he'll run to the forums and complain about how hideously overpowered the mini-chaingun is, for instance. |
