Disclaimer:
Most FFs do not take place in Emerald, or Konried, or whatever. They take place on a generic world, which is much more realistic than the PS world. Although some authors have gone a bit off-the-wall with new guns, aircraft, etc. I try to keep it more or less realistic. Sometimes. Purists will not like this one: it involves secret underwater bases. That said, please don't hate me for straying from the Dev-created world. Thank you.

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. |

The Vanu had been a bit sloppy guarding their secrets. Just a few times, information had leaked regarding several secret laboratories. So secret, they weren't even based on land- they were metal buildings submerged on the sea floor. Both the New Conglomerate and the Terran Republic knew of them (one cunning Terran spy actually made it onboard one of them, but was later discovered and shot.) The amount of basesare unknown.
The bases were named using a Greek letter and then a number which meant nothing. "Tau" bases regarded weapons, aircraft, and other types of research. "Sigma" bases regarded all interplanetary travel, through conventional and unconventional means. But the third, and last, kind, "Omega" was completely unknown. Transport to the bases occured by piloting a transport, usually a Galaxy, to a spot near the base. Power would fade out due to leaving the continent and eventually end, but by then it was within gliding distance of a special submarine launched from the base. It gave off a weak energy source, which restored energy to the transport. The transport would land on the sub, unload, and take off. The sub would go down to the base.
