An H bomb is roughly composed of a fusion bomb surrounded by a few fission bombs. That is how you initiate the fusion, the fission bombs blow first and creates so much force that they start fusion. So to create a fusion bomb you need a fission bomb. Kinda confusing, but I think I got it all right.
