The bloated video card is the majority of the price... If you check the tech forum, you will see the PC that I just made as a server/media PC, even with a 200 gig ATA166 8meg cache 7200 I made an AMD AthlonXP 2200+ /w a gig of ram, nice motherboard, case with rolled edges and a window, powersupply, all for under $550. If I went with a smaller hard drive, such as an 80 gig drive, I could have got it for ~$400.

Of course his is faster, but not $4000 faster

What vid card? The processor isnt very good. What sound card and speaker system? I was including those, and a monitor.

And an Alien wares maxed out would be like 3500-5000 in real life. They include the option of hte top of the line vid sound and ram etc. As long as you dont buy all there extra stuff its not that bad. But you can save several hundred dollars on your own. Maybe around 800 if your lucky for the expensive desktop they have.

I payed 1900 for it a year ago. Alienware gave me the 256mb Radeon 9800 as an upgrade for my 128mb 9700 when it broke down.

A loss of 400 dollars after a year of use is more than satisfactory to me.

Thats was form there actualy site with the stuff listed on the Extreme enthusiast edition iwth the best custom selection from the first page only. No montiter. Look at what is selecteted. The other things are stuff ive found at decent price or Very low prices i know form looking for stuff for myself.

Those alienwares prices are completely correct!

There is only about 200 dollars difference in what i found on my own to what it would be for most people looking for it at about suggested retail or just below suggested retail.

I look at Alienwars sight quite a bit to look at changes in products and prices.

Fragmantic learn to read. mine was in US dollars and the customized. The uncostimized is nolonger 2600 or whatever in US dolars because they added the Pentium 4 3.2 EE to it as the main chip instead of the regular 3.2 its now 3800$. Read the damn thing already would you! I used US currency and customized usint the max price on the first page of choices only !!!!!!! And those are the current prices for shit at the bottom on your own. I look everyday since im building a comp in a month.
