Is anyone else concerned by the news that "system X just went in" or "we're still working on how system Y will work in-game"?
If they're aiming for a Q1 release, it seems a little late to be adding new systems.

In business-programming-ville, we generally have something called a "code-freeze" date, and betas can only come after that date... part of *A* definition of "beta" (opinions vary) is "all features are in", usually coinciding with some degree of stability.

I'm worried for their delivery date. There are a huge number of interacting features in PS, and they're still adding stuff.

I can handle being on a patch-o-matic rollercoaster (barely)... I played T2 until quite recently. I dislike "Classic". But I was under the impression that Dave & co only released T2 in that state because he had a proverbial gun to his head.

So how're you going to pull this one off guys? Reassure me.

HUG says SJ!

We pretty much don't announce features until they're done. That doesn't mean that we're ever completely finished.
Remember...we're testing this game internally right now. Part of the testing process is determining what works and what doesn't work. So, due to testing, it becomes obvious when certain issues need shoring up or occasionally even re-writing.

This is normal and occurs on almost every game project.

Can it jeopardize the ship date? Yes it can. My advice on that subject is to let us work it out and then we'll let you know when the ship date is. After all, we're the only ones with any financial concerns riding on this, right?

Unless you count the opportunity cost of being addicted to an online game, which is going to cost a lot of us a lot of moneys too. In that sense, we're financially better off if the game isn't good or on time.

I don't worry about the ship date, but I can't help but worry a little that I haven't gotten a beta email
