I've been seeing a lot of people who have next to no facility with the English language. I'm not referring to d00ds who take liberties with it, but people that spell words in completely ridiculous ways, like "aloud" for "allowed" and "threw" for "through".
So how about it... Is English a dying language? Does anyone still love it? Vote.

I completely agree Veteran. Forget those more 'complicated' words. I don't think they teach the difference between there, their or your, you're; or it's, its... and that's not even the more complicated ones affect, effect (yes they are different).
I just shake my head when I read some of the posts on PSU because it's not even typos it's ( <--- correct use) complete and utter misuse. There is no love for english anymore. Grammar People.... do you use it? ~Phonetically yours.... Tide |

English is relevant to me, I can explain this:
15 year old preppy girls who do nothing other than listen to 50 cent and watch American Idol will be the undoing of Human Existance, starting with the english language. IMO... Examples: Wif, Hawt, u, wuz up, homie, r u, kewl |

I took an AP class in high school in English and Composition. Then I moved across the pond and got an A-Level in English. I got A's in all four English classes I had to take in college.
So yes, I squirm when I see someone say, "So this guy sais" or "Where you at". I also have beef with the fact that everything these days comes with both English and Spanish on the package - but that's a seperate thread entirely.
