It's not the gal being used less, it's the simple fact that if they added the airdel, they NOBODY would use the Gal - EVER. There would be no point to it anymore.

well you couldn't drop maxes or vechs with the airdell, and the airdell has little more armor than a reaver so it wouldn't be the same as a gal

I don't think I've ever seen Max's getting hotdropped. The few outfits I've seen wielding the Galaxy load up with strictly infantry.

I'm not talking about vehicle stats. Those are completely unimportant to this. The concept is what we're discussing. Regardless, I can't see this happening.

So as it stands, we have an air transport that's never used. The current proposal is to create another air transport, the Airdel, that would make the current air transport useless when it's not used anyway. So which is better...

1. Preserve the Galaxy, even though no one uses it?

or

2. Introduce the Airdel, which people would actually WANT to use?

Basically, I don't see the problem in having a smaller air transport. Look at the Sunderer and Delivery: I usually see Dels more often than not, but occasionally an outfit needs to haul more soldiers and MAXes, so they use the Sundy. Besides, the logic of the Galaxy becoming obsolete is flawed, since you could say the same about MA making the Suppressor obsolete as well.

The main use of the galaxy anymore is for spec ops guys. and with my outfit being primarily Spec ops it gets used quite often. I think the main problem with the gal is that there is only 1 dropship center per cont. I remember back in beta when the TR and NC Sanc WG both contected to Cyssor (I think it was that cont) Gunuku was always being fought over no matter what TR would always own the southern half of the cont and the NC the northern part.

The airdel would make the Deliverer itself less desirable, and that is actually significant.

Personally I'd love to see a useful air transport. Hell, I wouldn't mind if they took the vehicle bay out of the galaxy and gave it a slimmer profile to make it easier to land and load. Then I bet it would see more use.

Let's say they do put in the Airdel. Nobody would use the Galaxy to transport troops because they're all using Airdels. Nobody would use the Galaxy to transport vehicles because it's limited to small ones, so they'd use the Lodestar instead.

Which to use, a vehicle you can get at any tech-plant linked base, or one that requires the only DSC on the continent?

Please, don't say my logic is flawed unless you're going to explain yourself. Besides, how many supressors do you see in combat?

And did your other certs include CE, Adv Hack, Adv Med, and a few vehicles? Regardless, it's not the point. We're talking about the Airdel. (Sounds like an airborn restaurant)
