They do have a tiered fee system. If you buy 3 months I think it's like $40, and the monthly fee goes down from there.

I'm still debating. The end of beta event just about has me convinced (well, that and how pissed off I am at Planetside which should free up $13 a month). Basically I'm using my 3 day head start to jam through some levels and see if I have some fun at higher levels than I bothered achieving in beta. Made it to level 7 playing for a couple of hours yesterday, I'd like to make it to 11-12 by the time they shut down my headstart. I'm so torn, because I enjoy the game but there's just not enough to it to validate the monthly fee they're charging. I also couldn't give a rat's ass about the comic book, so having one delivered for 'free' holds no appeal to me. I'd rather they dump the comic and give me a $13 subscription.
