How much RAM do you have now? Are you planning on replacing that and buying 2 512 sticks?

I have 2 256MB sticks, should I get 2 512 or 2 256 (you have to buy them in pairs, right?)

Yes, you must buy them in pairs. And the only reason I would see it necessary to buy 2 512 sticks is if you don't have 4 slots, which I'm sure you probably do with RDRAM.

You would still be up to a gig by adding two 256 sticks, and it would be cheaper.

Alright, let me get it straight.

I can buy ANY RDRAM, RAMBUS, RIMM, etc. RAM, as long as it is in pairs, right? And, what does ECC/ Non ECC mean?

heheh, sorry, i'm sort of muddled when it comes to upgrades...

P.S: C&C Generals recently started to lag, hiccuping and such. What should I do about that?

ECC means Error Checking... something. Its slower and more expensive than normal RAM, and usually is only used in machines that really need to be more stable or something I think... like maybe servers or computers used for scientific work I'm guessing. Basically, don't worry about it. You don't need it. That or Registered RAM. Go for unbuffered non-ECC RAM.
