Im interested in the battlefield series now, and wanted to know if you guys think I should just go straight to BF:V or get the original+expansions.

If you cant afford both tho, get BFV. Its same as the originals, just improved gameplay, and better engine/graphics.

BTW: DC Moderator says there will be no DC for BF:V.

Again, go with the original. No one is bother going to make a good mod for BF:V. By the time they finish it, BF2 will be out. So will a slew of other great FPS games like Doom 3 and Tribes Vengeance.

I bought BF1942 again just for the mods. it was well worth it. DC is the best mod to date.

A load of the mods that were going to be released for '42 have decided to move to BF:V, so they don't have to start all over, so there is no reason why it would take months and months, or in the case of BF2, over a year, to make a good one. Hell, there are already some HL2 mods deep into the development stage, showing the game doesn't have to be out for mods to be made for them.

I agree, go with original if your tight on money as you can get alot of great games for free. Desertcombat, Galactic Conquest, Eve of Destruction, 1918, and tons more. I would get the original as DC is just soooooo fun.

btw can anyone here get the HomeFront mod to work for BF1942? It always crashes when I load up a map.
