Ok guys, heres the WTF moment of the week.
Earlier today (around 1400) I fired up my comp to find some stuff to do. I log into steam, go to 3rd party mods, and find the specialist, which Ive wanted for a few weeks now. Then I scroll down a little more, and see a paintball mod. Looked interesting, so I gave it a go. It was great. The markers were realistic, the animations were dead-on, and the maps were well done. My younger brother came in to see it, he loved it, so he tried to download it on his computer, he doesnt know how to do shit, so I had to come in and find the website to download and install from.
I log into his Steam account. It says I was chosen for Counter Strike Source beta. WTF!?! Apparently my brother had purchased Coundition Zero, so it eventually got him a beta ticket. I was pretty excited and relieved, since I had been considering DLing CSS illegally a few days earlier. So, I log into his account on my computer, and start uploading the beta, I was excited as ever, but when I try to run it, it says "You will be notified when you will be able to participate in the beta." Im pretty mad, but still happy I got CSS in my possession.
After going out for dinner, I returned home and decided to play that Paintball mod again. I enjoyed it, but apparently it was bugged so I couldnt see paintballs in the air, which was a crippling disadvantage. So I reinstalled and redownloaded like 6 times, but it didnt fix anything. So, bored, I go to steam updates. It says all users in Phase 2 beta of CSS will be able to play at 6:45 PM today. I check the time. Its 7:00. I log into steam and notice CSS is under the "Play Games" category. I load it up, jumping all over my room, waiting for the update to finish. After 20 minutes and 34 seconds its complete. Time to fire up CSS, completely legally. My brother comes in and finds out whats going on. We are both shaking with excitement as the main menu screen appears. My cat Russ, sits in the corner, looking exhausted and sick. I hear him cough, like hes choking on something. Then he starts to throw up right behind my chair. It just keeps coming and coming, so I leave the room and tell my mom to clean it up (I
my mom, whenever someone pukes, shes on it in no time). The smell was awful so I left the room to go downstairs and type this thread.
Im gonna go back up now and hope its gone so I can finally play CSS. Wish me luck.
