Hmm i think they mean more like in most MECH game like MechWarriror or Heavy Gear 2 where you can use keys for Leg (or the wheels of the tank) movement (WASD Foward, Turn Left, Back, Turn Right) and use the mouse for torso movemont and aiming..... Just how I think it would be done for a One man tank option.

That'd suck if the big tanks absolutely need 2 people to be used effectively. Sure, it's logical to assume that with thousands of players on a server it won't be hard to find a gunner, but why would someone who wants BEP get a certification in a tank if all they can do is drive it around? Plus, you don't know that whoever volunteered to be your gunner will actually be good at gunning. Or what if you agree to be someone's gunner and they drive into a lake? I know the tanks would be great for groups since everyone gets the same BEP, but what about if you want to fire your tanks guns and no one in your group is certified to actually drive it?

IRL tanks have crews of about 5 people, but that doesn't mean wrangling 5 players in BF1942 for a tank would have been fun. There seems to be a few minor details of the game that work against the dev team's "extreme action" philosophy, most notably the tank thing. Waiting for a gunner on a tank slows things down and takes more action away from the player who wants to use the tank. Oh well, if it is, it is and if it isn't, it isn't.

Bah, who wants to use an itty-bitty tank when they could potentially have a really really big one?

I'm thinking that a driver could switch positions, but at the cost of being a sitting duck as previously mentioned. Also, M-1's DO fire on the move...it's one of their greatest strengths. My real question is the Vanu tank...that big gun looks like it's controlled by the driver and appears to only have movement up and down, but not side to side. This means that to be effectively aimed, the tank IS the turret. The small turret on top is for a second gunner manning the AI gun(s), but that main gun looks like a big beamer that the driver fires by pointing the tank. This may be the route I go, and hopefully I can find a good gunning partner.
