Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken.
I hear you have to actually be a pilot to go ahead and be a rich pilot which facilitates buying planes. And by be a pilot, I mean have something like your private or commercial pilots license, not your medical/student pilot certificate.

I'm thinking about becoming a pilot. Is there any kind of medical examinations you have to go through? Apparently I'm slightly colourblind. Would this affect my chances of becoming a pilot?
I'm going to become a commercial pilot if all goes well. Perhaps maybe police at the most. (Helicopter that is) |

@ hamma: 1. Flying is relativly easy to do. I swear to god doop could do it. Maybe.... but as for safty that aircraft I just pictured has a rocket launched parchute recovery system. It can save you and the airplane for a mear 100k. (thats how much to fix it. Its alot to fix but the airplane itself is 500k) Also to become a heli pilot I think you need to become a normal pilot.... its also ALOT harder. Take it from me... Ive flown one.
@ Martyr: Holy fuck thats hot. @ jet lover dude: Jet engines are over rated... finding landing strips long enough to set down on... places to refuel.... fixing them... overhauls... its just not worth it. Plus a prop means you can go mad slow.... Quick story... friday was my second lesson. It included things as slow flight... well I got bored with just doing slow flight so I asked the instructor if I could do something fun. He knows me so he said ya. Found a nice small area in the Mohawk Vally... nice tall valley ... dove into it, pitched for speed at 39 kts and throttled up for altitude.... full flaps.... Congrats I am now in a 39 kt head wind.... aka... I am hovering.... ATC started to yell at me for showing off after that I held steady for about 2 minutes.... just sitting in one spot.... kinda creepy... you could see people looking up at us 1250 feet down saying "Wtf" |

Negatory ghost rider, if the chute is deployed the plane is done for. The stress is way too much, you may land in one piece, but that plane's never getting certed again. To my knowledge it's only been used once (twice?). And your slow flight story sounds like a good way to get yourself killed, you've got a very bad flight instructor.
