If it's "Casual Formal", don't wear a jacket. Wear a pair of pleated khakis with a belt (and matching shoes) with a light blue or dark blue oxford shirt, white t-shirt underneath. No tie necessary, but a nice yellow tie would look lovely

Bah that's pretty much my work dress code. Though I tend to wear a lot of black to work. Sucks to have a full defective laser printer cartridge leak all over you. Well the all black clothes works unless it's a color cartridge that leaks all over you... oh well.

as a professional full-time monochromatic dresser, i voted for white... BUT

i strongly suggest that you look into an (approximately) 50% grey tie with a diagonal white or silver pinstripe.
