Been gone from this game for a long time.

Wondering if its worth comming back to play? I played since closed beta to a few months after the core combat expansion. Any cliffs on whats happened?

- Battle Frame Robots: aka heavy tanks, the vanguard, magrider and prowler no longer dominate the battlefield. Some people hate them, some people love them, and they are designed so that the most effective counter to them is the footsoldier.

- Force Domes / Capitol Buildings: Every continent now has four bases designated as "Sub-capitols" and one "Capitol" building. You have to have 2 subcaps to be able to hack a capitol buildings CC. If your empire controls the Capitol and 2 subcaps, your capitol gains a force dome, which is basically a giant forcefield that no person/vehicle from an enemy empire can pass through.

-Oshur is dead. It has been replaced by the "Battle Islands", four small continents that have restricted access to certain weapons (Heavy assault) and vehicles, meant for infantry and light armor battles.

-Home Continents: Each empire has two home continents. If an enemy empire controls both of your home continents, they gain the ability to purchase your empires weapons and vehicles from their terminals.

-CR5s are now everywhere, along with their CUDs and OSes, so don't be surprised to see 6+ go off in one battle

-Not sure if this happened before or after you left.. Markov and Johari & Emerald and Konried have merged together...

I didnt know you could get their weps I thought it was just their vechs and the battle islands suck(I think some might disagree). New orders for squad and platoon leaders like order recall and order home base. Last new certification tree if you havnt seen it.
Its worth it, big battles lots of peeps running around its great.

i love extinction, i've never seen the others used the way they were meant though, you hardly ever get vehc vs vehc battles, as far as i know, and not all that many people cert in air cav

in fact i just got a freind of mine who wouldnt play it a year ago to give it a try. i think its been really reinvigerated. if you slum around these boards (not as much here, but definately on the official site) you will see a lot of whining posts about how its dead or dying or shittastic now. but i actually couldn't agree less. actually i took a chance because i had read all that malarky and decided i would take a chance and see for myself. hopefully all this complaining about the game doesn't scare poeple off. although i hope it wont i think it will.

Yeah i was there for the merger. Had my characters on Johari. You may remeber them, one was babe. The other one was named Support. I use to run around in battle doing nothing but support with that character. Didnt even have a gun, just fixed everyone up. Got ya covered like a jimmy hat!

Im playing guild wars right now, just got it yesterday. Think this will be my addiction for the next while.

I reccomend Planetside to anyone, its my favorite game and prolly will be for at least another year or so. And of course im CR5, who isnt nowadays?... well i hope to see ya out your noobie self out in the battlefield giving ppl "support".
