Actually on Friday we had a massive crash for all of about 15 minutes... though I'm pretty sure it only effected the servers that handle scheduling and service calls, probably not monitoring.
Thats why we have 7 different centers for monitoring, and the building I work in has 6 backup generators and armored telephone line conduit buried deep underground that leads directly to a telephone company switchboard. The irony is, the Department of Defense-rated building we work in is almost all big glass windows. So much for actually protecting the staff. Maybe its bullet-proof or something, I haven't asked. I'm guessing not... Back to the topic of snow and the Northeast though, all windows mean that we can look out at all the pretty snow burying us. So comforting. |
