I don't think it should zoom in on them, but instead pan the camera in the direction of where your assailant is.

Not having any clue how or where you were killed is just frustrating. And only encourages camping.

The kill cam as it is or anything like it needs to go. I usually play mostly as a sniper and first thing that ran through my mind is... I kill a guy an now he sees that there is actually 4 of us hiding in that rock cluster and we have an AA max guarding us. He now thinks ok guess i need to pull a tank and head over there instead of a flying over.

I didn’t mind the old kill cam, but for the really really long duration that allowed you to send feedback of incoming troops and numbers.

The only idea I could think of to change it up and not give a change in the battle field but possibly lets you learn from your death. keep a similar kill cam as PS1 but it only shows up to like 5 seconds of continuing battle before it freezes a screen shot, then say brings up a set of choses to respawn, or replay a 3rd person video of the last 5-10 seconds before your death and the 5 seconds after, from say 1 of 2 preset or both, front and/or back facing 3rd person perspective.

This just an Idea but if it goes away altogether it would not hurt my feelings one bit.

Hate it!

Go back to what PlanetSide 1 had - a Camera rotating around your corpse.

How about a death animation type thing? so you fall to the ground and your view stays locked to where your eyes are until you respawn.

Could be cool.

I guess you could call it that if you wanted to

But honestly - were you against that?

I'm surprised no one wants a Battlefield style death screen which is just you falling over from the first person perspective.

I want all the loadout info, and 3d model but NOT an in game shot. (Similar to the one from where you select your class)

So the same but without the "intel" component.

Killcam was in fact the only thing that I did not enjoy in the GDC demo.. well, I missed the enter vehicle-animation too but oh well.

Just do what COD does, it makes dying really fun and it never leads to you killing the other person via it. I don't understand why people are moaning about the kill cam so much, people love it because it adds feedback to why you died. If you don't know why you died then the game can become really frustrating. Right now it looks like you don't slow down when being hit or get indicated what direction you're being shot at. That will become really annoying with Snipers, every other FPS does this and so should Planetside 2.

In Planetside 2 especially you'll probably never see the person who killed you ever again unless the game population dies down. So I hardly see it giving you an advantage, besides if one person wants to camp in a single spot then he'll be left as the battle will move on. No one likes campers, they should be flushed out.
