It was an alias for someone who was being a jerk in the past and got banned for it then too. If there wasn't a history, this thread alone may not have been ban worthy.

If you want to act like , take it to the politics forum. I don't think you can get banned for posting in there.

I personally think you have a high bar to meet because of what ps1 set, not what the boring BF/CoD games have done, they are a step back, not somthin to look to when designing.

Again, yes, i know nothin is final and we still have beta, but many things get engrained so deeply that its hard to change them when it would mean changing so many other intertwined systems, thats what scares me the most. But having said that, i do hold out hope we get some of those things we loved about PS1 to actually get in game at some point.

Waiting for the return of the superior, real PS style teamwork oriented vehicles with drivers not gunning, and in fixed vehicle slots so we can once again have real, epic, vehicle battles where the tanks actually move in combat rather than a silly 1700's era line up and shoot.

From the GDC videos i saw... the gunplay looked pretty good. I'm not interested in competative gunplay either though, i'm interested in LARGE SCALE BATTLES.

I suppose you would think Dwarf Fortress would be an AAA+ game then.

Games like BF3/COD are AAA because of the extensive budget and extensive audience. Those games are professional and saying different just shows how disconnected you are from reality. Those games are modern games.

Higby has stated that those are PS2's bar that they have to top. They won't bring it down just to give vets their nostalgiagasm. Just play PS1 if thats what you want.

I think this is the sentiment that VanuMax was going for more then 'devs being lazy' and what others are attempting to express. Atm, all Im seeing is BF/COD with a PS skin on it.

Mentioned it before but PS could lead the way towards a completely different theme that would make the other 2 follow them. Either way, doesnt matter, because most of our concerns are being drowned out by all the stroking going on around here.

But you should be aware of the fact that its HIGHLY probable that less then 6 months down the line after PS2 is playing damn near exactly like BF/COD you'll be bored of the game and you will have missed your opportunity to alter it BEFORE it was released.

When theres jack-all for vehicles to run around in. Ammo boxes are driving you nuts on gen holds. MCT are jihading in your spawn room with C4 strapped to their jocks, C4 is exploding all over the place EXACTLY like it does in BF. Aircav is completely dominating the 4 WHOLE ground vehicles you get to pick from. When ALL thats going on. Just think fondly of those of us saying "This could be so much more" and trolling your asses with alternative positions to your own in gameplay potential.
