I put yes to MAX's requiring resources. I think its a good way of helping limit the amount of MAX's running around Battlefield. I see nothing wrong with it. Heck, I would probably even be keen on throwing a CD on it. I'll base that off of beta when I can get in game and actually look at it though.

OMFG I CANT WTFPWN EVERYTHING WITH MY MCG!!!! NERF IT!
Seriously, the whole point of MAX's is to keep infantry roles more varied. If MAXs are like they are in PS1, while costing resources, not many will use them. In bases, there will be people just laying down fire with their preferred AI weapon. It will be so...predictable. MAXs add that unpredictability. They make you go, "Oh sh*t none of us have AV" or reward you when you do. MAXs really aren't that powerful, 1-2 people can take on down fairly easily if they're prepared correctly. We'll just have to see how PS2 is though. Edit: And their 'potential' power to take on more than one person is countered by their countdown. This was balanced before everyone could have virtually every cert. Seeing as its a class system in PS2, there will basically be one max. So to relate to PS1, it'd be like if all 3 maxes had a global countdown before use instead of seperate countdowns per max. Last edited by Bravix; 2012-04-08 at 05:58 PM. |
