I'm fine with a /recall given say a 5 second counter. Was kind of annoying in PS1 having to use punisher grenades to kill yourself.
Also the game isn't really about getting kills. It's not like someone recalling messes with your k/d. You pushed the player back.

I say no only because chances are we'll have recall.
Personally I don't give a rats ass if they suicide to deny me the kill. They still lost the fight and I still won it, which is all that's important to me. Don't understand this retarded obsession with a single number. Seems to me that the only people who ought to obsess over that lost kill are the ones who don't get enough in the first place. |

Let's face it, suiciding was mostly use to rob an opponent of a kill. I don't like it. Obviously there needs to be a "Recall to Foothold" mechanic, but killing yourself to rob someone of a kill is pathetic.

They already said we can stick em on the backs of MAXes.
Don't know if that means that is the only place on a MAX we can stick them, or if they mean that we will mostly be sneaking up behind them.

You have to allow boomers and grenades as suicide options, otherwise you have people abusing them by running up next to someone, dropping them and immediately detonating, using the no-suicide mechanic to avoid damage.
The only reason to deny someone the ability to suicide is so they can't be spiteful and intentionally suicide to avoid dying by someone else's hands. This may be lame, but it isn't an epidemic, and it certainly isn't worth the lameness that would result if your own grenades did no damage to you. The value of suicide is allowing people the opportunity to quickly travel when they might be stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Recall is a great solution for this. And if you allow recall then allowing someone to kill themselves with a boomer or grenade is really no big deal. So again we're back to the PS1 model, which worked fine. Recall to the foothold - anytime but maybe have a 5-10 second countdown, interruptable by damage. Suicide by grenade and boomer permissible because if you don't it'll be abused. There you go. |

Having the ability suicide is critical in denying the lowly, undeserving enemy scum of your kill. It is extremely honorable to selflessly take your life in order to deny making the enemy more powerful. Good deeds like these done in the name of the great Vanu Sovereignty should be rewarded with experience points, reduced spawn timer, and resource bonuses.
