DDR = double data rate, i.e. 133MHz SDRAM becomes 266Mhz DDR SDRAM. ... or something like that...

You need more RAM and a new display adapter... 32mb MX card ain't gonna do a good job. Get 512 mb of ram and a G4TI4200 or better, depending on how much you have to spend..
SDR ram = Synchronous Dynamic RAM, meaning the ramspeed follows your cpu's bus speed. DDR ram = Double Data Rate, it's an asyncronious form of memory that can work faster than your cpu's bus speed. RDR ram = Recomended data rate, it's a ramtype that has a faster bus speed than DDR but slower caches. Its the fastest ram atm but it needs special boards and is a dying memory type due to the fact that companies have to pay a royalty to RAMBUS when making the chips, pluss they cost a buttload more and it's only slightly faster than the best DDR ram atm. also need a special MB to use it.. don't worry about RDR at all. |
